Jurying Application Form
General Guidelines
The objective of NSDCC Standards Jurying is to select items of sufficient
quality to be sold through NSDCC sponsored craft markets. Using the general
and media-specific guidelines, the Standards Committee carefully reviews
all submissions and accepts work on the merit of workmanship and originality.
The Committee will want to review at least three examples of your work as well as any additional information you can provide to help them assess your general line of production. This additional information can be in the form of good quality slides or photos, or newspaper articles and reviews pertaining to your work.
The NSDCC recommends that the items you select for review be of the highest quality so that there is no confusion as to your intent or the quality of your work. These items should be typical of what you propose to display in your booth at an NSDCC market. If your products are diverse in media, please submit several samples of each medium.
While every care is taken to safeguard works submitted for jurying, the NSDCC cannot guarantee the safety of these objects. You are advised to insure your work against any hazards. It is required that arrangements be make in advance for the return of your work as quickly as possible after jurying. If you are not able to retrieve your work in person, please include funds with your application to cover return postage or shipping.
You will be notified in writing of the Committee’s decision. If your work is accepted by the committee you will be eligible to exhibit in all NSDCC Craft markets upon payment of the difference between a general membership and a market membership. The increased expense of the market membership is applied to the administration of your market applications. You must hold a market membership in order to receive market applications.
If for any reason you wish to respond to the Committee with regards to your application, please make your wishes known in writing to the Committee and submit them to the NSDCC office.
